CHRISTIAN SENIORS ASSOCIATION FAVORS TWO SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM BILLS

AARP “MISSING IN INACTION”

Washington, DC – The Christian Seniors Association is encouraging members of Congress to examine and support two bills designed to halt Congressional squandering of Social Security funds and prohibit Social Security payments to illegal aliens.

James Lafferty, Executive Director of the Christian Seniors Association, said his organization views bills introduced by Congressmen Ron Paul (R-Texas) and Dana Rohrabacher (R-California) as codifying “common sense.”

“Mr. Paul’s bill (HR 219) requires that money deducted from paychecks for Social Security be spent on Social Security and nothing else and Congressman Rohrabacher’s bill (HR 736) denies Social Security credit for any work performed by illegal non-citizens.

“At a time when the Social Security program is in doubt, it would be foolish not to pass these two bills quickly.

“Paying Social Security benefits to illegal workers is like paying workmen’s compensation to some bank robbers shot by police.   It is ridiculous that we have to pass a law stating something which is so obvious.”

“You would expect the AARP to be out in front supporting these two measures but they are ‘Missing In Inaction.’

“ The AARP’s two favorite interest groups – federal big spenders and the radical liberal coalition which supports illegal immigration – have pulled in the reins of this federally subsidized lobby.

“Don’t look for AARP to do anything to support these important measures.  On some Social Security bills they are big mouths like Rosie O’Donnell but on the Paul and Rohrabacher bills – they are Marcel Marceau.”

The Christian Seniors Association is a Washington-based lobby with a membership of over 120,000 activists across America.
