HUCKABEE TIES TO AARP CONCERN CHRISTIAN GROUP

Huckabee and Hillary Clinton Only Candidates at AARP Event

Washington, DC – An official of the Christian Seniors Association (CSA) said today that former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s appearance at the AARP’s annual convention in Des Moines is a “flashing red warning light about Governor Huckabee’s commitment to conservative principles.”

“He waved his AARP membership card to a cheering crowd and signed an AARP pledge,” said CSA Executive Director James Lafferty. “It might as well have been an ACLU card because the AARP plays as big a role in the extreme left coalition as the ultraliberal ACLU.

“The AARP is a major donor to the Human Rights Campaign, the leading lobby for the homosexual agenda, and they have joined the pro-abortion, anti-Christian coalition in Washington on a number of occasions.

“We don’t have a favorite in the presidential races but we are very disappointed that someone with the Governor’s political experience would lack the good judgment and basic discernment and associate with the AARP.

“Only two presidential candidates showed up for the AARP convention and this says a lot. The two candidates were Governor Huckabee and Senator Hillary Clinton.

“Governor Huckabee should take that AARP membership card and send it back to the AARP as many thousands of our members have and he should repudiate the radical AARP agenda that he whooped and hollered for in Des Moines.”

The Christian Seniors Association is an organization of over 150,000 religious conservative activists across America who advocate on issues ranging from Social Security to religious free exercise in the public square. It is a project of the Traditional Values Coalition.
